Everything you want to know before you trust us.

You join a 30-minute Google Meet call with your assigned listener. They will greet you, let you know they're there to listen, and then the floor is yours. There is no agenda, no structure, no homework. You can talk about anything. You can be silent. You can cry. You lead — your listener follows.

Anything. Relationship pain. Work stress. Grief. Loneliness. Family conflict. A decision you can't make. Something you've never said out loud. Something you've said a hundred times and still need to say again. There is no topic too heavy or too small.

Completely. Many people prefer audio-only. Your listener won't comment on it, won't suggest you turn it on, and won't treat you differently. Show up exactly how you need to.

Your listener will gently ask an open question to help you start. You don't need to have your thoughts organised. You don't need to know what you want to get out of it. Just show up — the rest takes care of itself.

That's not a problem. It's often what the session is for. Your listener will not rush you, comfort you with platitudes, or make you feel self-conscious. Tears are welcome. Silence is welcome. Your listener is trained to hold space for all of it.

Sessions are 30 minutes. When your time is up, your listener will close gently and without abruptness. If you feel you need more, you can book a second session. We don't rush you out of the door — but we honour the time commitment.

Never. Sessions are not recorded, stored, or reviewed. Your listener takes no notes during or after the session. The conversation exists only between the two of you — and then it is gone.

No. You can use any name when you book. We never verify identities. If you want to be completely anonymous, that's your right.

Only what you tell them in the session. We do not share booking information, contact details, or any personal data with listeners.

Your listener is not a mandated reporter. They are not a therapist and do not operate under clinical legal obligations. However, in cases of imminent risk to life, we reserve the right to escalate as required by law. We will always tell you if that's the case.

Go to our Book page, choose a date and time, enter a name and email address, and pay. You'll receive your Google Meet link by email within minutes. It takes under 2 minutes.

Yes. We offer same-day sessions subject to availability. We aim to have at least one listener available every day of the week.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Verve, and other major debit/credit cards. Payment is handled securely at the point of booking.

Cancel at least 2 hours before your session for a full refund. Cancellations inside 2 hours are non-refundable, but you can reschedule once at no extra charge.

Yes. If you don't feel genuinely heard during your first session, email us at hello@beheardspace.com within 24 hours and we will refund you in full. No questions asked.

No. Our listeners are trained peer supporters, not licensed mental health professionals. They are vetted for empathy and emotional maturity, and trained in our proprietary listening methodology. They will not diagnose, treat, or advise — they will listen.

Applicants go through a multi-stage selection process that screens for emotional intelligence, communication quality, and genuine empathy. Most applicants are not accepted. Those who are then complete 40 hours of training before taking any live sessions.

Not currently. Sessions are assigned by our rotation system to ensure equal availability across all listeners. If you have a specific requirement (e.g. same-gender listener), email us before booking and we will do our best to accommodate.

Tell us. Email hello@beheardspace.com with your session date and what happened. We take every report seriously. Listeners who do not meet our standard do not continue.

None. Sessions run on Google Meet which works in your browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. No download required. You just click your link.

If you experience a technical issue that prevents your session from starting, we will rebook you at no charge. Contact us immediately at hello@beheardspace.com with your session details.

Yes. Google Meet uses end-to-end encryption by default. Your session is as private as any encrypted video call can be.
